Tournament Hosts Notch-Up Solid Win In Round 1 Action
Wanganui RFU were took a comfortable 20 point win over neighbours Horowhenua-Kapiti RFU as the 2017 Hurricanes Under 16 Tournament got underway in Wanganui today.
Winning by 27 points to 7, Wanganui joined Wairarapa-Bush in claiming Round 1 Tournament Points, with Wairarapa-Bush over-powering East Coast by 58 points to 0.
In Division A matches, Wellington A were too strong for Poverty Bay, winning their match by 46 points to 12, while Hawkes Bay ground out a three point victory over Manawatu, 13 to 10.
In the other non-competition match played today at Wanganui Collegiate, Wellington Development managed to edge Hawkes Bay Development by 15 points to 12.
Round 2 matches will be played tomorrow.
